Natural gas

“It’s an unwelcome interruption every time we’re up for contract renewal. Now that we’re a part of the co-op, I can lean on the group to make these decisions painless and straightforward. ”

~ Aaron Siirila, Business Administrator | Old Presbyterian Meeting House ~

In recent years, energy markets have experienced pretty extreme swings and volatility. In 2021, the gas supply rate on the utility more than doubled in Washington DC. In Illinois, it more than tripled.

These market swings expose our community organizations to significant budget uncertainty because the utility gas price is variable, month-to-month.

What we offer is so much more than lower rates

We’ve learned that even if a supplier is offering the lowest price, you don’t know what they’ll charge in a year or two. Our group energy aggregation is a facilitated process that allows peers to learn from each other and make informed decisions. We then use our collective purchasing power to negotiate best possible contract terms to protect you from overcharges.

31 CPA Co-op Participants worked together to challenge the industry and push back against over charges on their electricity bills
